Siegfried Enkelmann is considered the leading dance photographer of the 1940s thru the 60s in Germany. Prints of his iconic images have been sold at Christie’s (London), Lempertz (Cologne), Chayette & Cheval Paris for as much as $1700 (Source: Artnet) I have unique access to Siegfried Enkelmann’s filing cards which he maintained meticulously. For reference and as an additional proof of authenticity I show the corresponding filing card (where available) These cards are not part of the sale. Image title: „Bolero» Year of work: 1961, according to the filing number Medium: Glossy gelatin silver print Print size: 12“ x 15.8“ (circa 30.5 x 40.3 cm) Condition: Very Good to Excellent (C7, according to the Iguide Universal Grading Scale) Large print in mostly excellent condition, however there is a little smudge visible near the upper edge. It looks to me this could be retouching dye that came on the print inadvertently. Other than that the print is flawless, C9 – C10.
