The window portrays chic fashion mannequins with the pouffy Silver Clouds or Silver Pillows among them. The corner of the huge 20″ photo shows the text sign (see photo) announcing the event. Text almost looks like it was carved in stone on the building, but surely not.

Very rare early work. Original untitled silver gelatin photograph “Kids in a Wagon with Horse on the street” signed en verso by Helen Levitt and accompanied by original gallery receipt from G Gibson gallery in Seattle. Circa 1930’s printed later. Purchased from G Gibson gallery in Seattle in March 1999 for $2,500 (~$4,500 adjusted for inflation) along with another photography by Levitt of same size/period and different subject as listed on the receipt. The photo was originally accompanied by a letter from G Gibson gallery appraising the value at $4,000 in April 2000 (~$7,200 adjusted for inflation) , but the appraisal letter got switched with the letter for the other similar Levitt photograph at some point.
