Up for your consideration is Nancy at the Esplanade Hotel, New York City, 1979, a museum quality archival print by the legendary Magnum Photos photographer Danny Lyon (B. 1942), signed by Mr. Lyon on the verso. This is an official Magnum Photos Square Print that measures 6 by 6 inches (sheet size), editioned in 2019. The edition size of these is set by the amount sold in one week. Long sold out and no more will be issued. It shows his wife, Nancy, changing son Noah’s diapers. Noah is now the artist Retard Riot. A beautiful image. Of it, Mr. Lyon says on the label on the verso above his signature- Nancy Weiss Lyon, muse, mother and step-mother of our four children, quilt maker, water colorist, maker of films, audio recordist for Willie, Born to Film, and other film wonders, editor of most that I write. Changing baby Noah’s diapers, in a transient hotel, our home as we lived in two worlds, bucolic New Mexico and bankrupt NYC of the late 1970s. Noah now a Brooklyn artist, Retard Riot. The orchard we planted, the children now grown. Nancy, a true wonder woman is making cherry jam. Due to the fact that the print for sale is in a sealed glassine envelope with the Magnum Photos seal, and has never been opened, I’ve also included a stock photo of what it looks like outside of it (Pic #1). All the other pictures are of the items for sale. The edition size of these is set by the amount sold in one week. They are now sold out and no more will be issued. It comes in an archival sleeve, which you can see in the pictures. It has never been matted or framed. In addition to the print, the Magnum cardboard sleeve is included. It has been kept in a smoke and pet free environment.
