The photograph, in black and white, frames an Egyptian statuette in light stone, identified by the labels as being the pharaoh Thutmose III («Thotmes III»). The sovereign is represented kneeling, dressed in a short loincloth and wearing the traditional royal headdress (the nemes) decorated with the protective cobra (uraeus). In a posture of ritual offering, he holds in his hands, placed on his thighs, two spherical containers (vases we). The photograph, in black and white, shows a huge Egyptian stone statue seen in profile (turned to the left) inside a museum room. It is a pharaoh represented standing, in the classic attitude of walking with the left leg forward. He is wearing the double crown of Egypt (the Pschent) placed on the nemes, and wears a fake beard as well as a short pleated loincloth (chendjit). His arms are extended alongside his body and he holds a cylindrical object in his fist. Royal cartridges are engraved on the side face of the base, under its feet. Although I cannot identify the ruler with certainty, this monumental style is very characteristic of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (like Ramesses II or Merenptah).
