Photos by EDWARD WESTON Portrait of Zachary Cole & Laurence Neil 5 x 7 RARE 1945
Two original photos of Edward Weston’s sons I believe are Zachary Cole Weston (1919-2003) sitting on porch in a rocker, and Laurence Neil Weston (1916-1998) «sleeping» w/ bottle/s in hand, pipe in mouth (or could be Brett)? I chose Neil only after comparing his features (hairline, nose, eyebrows, and ears) with other pics of him, and because I read that he is known for being photographed by his father. I can only presume that Edward took the photos himself – ca. mid 1940s. Both young men have a log-cabin type background. They measure a tad over 6 5/8″ x 4 11/16″, including the approx. 3/8″ white border. Semi-matte finish (lustre?). No markings, etc. on the backs. Both in excellent condition. The whites are brighter in real life (NOT gray or yellowish like my pics seem). The one of Neil does have a small corner crease at lower left. You will receive these 2 exact ORIGINALS. Any other pics shown above are what I saved from the Web so that you can compare facial features. Will make an awesome addition to your collection.
