Following your purchase, please take a moment to leave us your feedback– Thanks Notes from Artist: » Invited to go to a friends, grandmothers farm to check up on her horses that had been left out to fend for themselves through the winter, we set out to the sparsely populated west coast of Icelandic. Being September, the weather was still somewhat temperate, so we felt it would be an easy trip. We drove some 4 hours with no signs of any people just the stark Iceland treeless landscape. Suddenly, snow poured down and down and just keep mounting. We plowed through. A sudden freak snowstorm in September? What else could happen I thought. Then our wheel blow out and shot across the road, the car veered heading over an embankment; the quick and steady reaction of the typically skilled Icelandic driving saved us from disaster as we slid to a halt. Now, we were stranded alone with no signs of civilization anywhere. We looked at the gas gauge and it was neatly empty and turned the motor off. Feeling cold,we put on additional sweaters and tried to keep warm as the temperature dropped. I prepared myself to trek through miles of piling snow, maybe to find some outpost, farmer, anyone. Leave or Stay? I thought… when an old pickup truck came racing through the snow, stopped and a weathered man jumped out picked up the tire and drove off, without a word… I thought to myself, ROBBED NOW!! NO IT CAN’T BE, NOT HERE!?? 10 minutes later he returned with the tire repaired, we were visible shivering, he invited us to his home. We followed quickly. After hot showers and a hot meal, we arranged for a snow tractor to travel over the snow blocked road. Feeling light headed but wonderfully amazed at this stranger’s hospitality help. I walked out and felt connected to something larger than myself to all the people here and all of the austere beauty and goodness of this country, my whole being opened and felt the sunlight connect to the intense emotions inside me and that were all to be funneled through my lens and to all that was unfolding before me. I could see two black crows that in a few seconds would be in the perfect place to complete the right compositional design and transitional moment to resolution in the space before me. Luckily, I had two cameras, one with kodachrome slide film and the other with negative film. I took quick light readings and got both shutters off juar as the crows came to the right place and that proved critical since the intensity of sun burned out the slide film and yet my negative was perfect!» 0 0 0 All Paul Calabro’s photo-lithographs sold on this site can be signed and dedicated. Please keep the dedications one line no more then 50 charactersNo returns or refunds for these signed and dedicated photo lithographs The purchaser is responsible for providing accurate name(s) for the dedications.Paul Calabro reserves the right of discretion of the dedications either in there length or subject matter. The copyright of both the story describe, the photo-lithographs depicted, the video provided and all rights including any digital form are the sole property of Paul Calabro and /or his assignees or heirs.Photographic lithographs are intended for private use only.
