Baseball Commissioner, Bowie Kuhn, has his hand on Williams’s shoulder. Bob Short, owner of the Senators, is between Nixon and Houk. The gentleman in front with the button is American League president, Joe Cronin. The Marine, in uniform, is Nixon’s Marine Corps aide, Major Jack Brennan who later became the first Marine to set foot in the People’s Republic of China.
