Robert M. Schiller Jr. Large Silver Photograph Collected by MOMA, Art Institute

Robert Schiller (American, b. 1925) oversized photograph of women’s face, titled «A Study in Physiognomy #1». Signed, titled and with Schiller’s address on verso in pencil. Seems to be either infra-red or temperature sensitive experimental photo. I have two other photo’s by this artist for sale on Ebay. Schiller has at least two pieces from the late 1940’s in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work was exhibited, and is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Schiller showed at MOMA in the Exhibition “Photographs from the Museum Collection”, 1958-1959. He took photos for the Institute of Design, originally called the New Bauhaus in Chicago. He was an ID student from 1946-49 and often photographed the school’s events. His work is also in the collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
